On March 17-18 2004,
violence
engulfed Kosovo as 50,000 Albanian extremists rioted throughout the
province, attacking Serb Orthodox churches and monasteries, as
well as
burning many Serbs' homes.

The end of July marked the
opening of the rebuilt Old Bridge in Mostar, eleven years
after the original was destoyed by Bosnian Croat forces.
